Our Story

ROOTS

GROWING THE GAME

The North Bristol Blackhawks embark on a new chapter, following a successful 25-year legacy in Hampshire. Originally established as the New Milton Blackhawks in 1998, the club has a proven track record of nurturing young talent. Countless players have progressed through our ranks to compete at the highest levels of British basketball, including the National League, County, BUCS, NBL, and BBL. Core to our philosophy is fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment, building strong team bonds while developing exceptional basketball players.

COACHING

Coach Hiscox, the visionary founder of the New Milton Blackhawks, continues to lead the club as head coach. With an impressive coaching tenure since 1998, he brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the team. All Blackhawks coaches are DBS checked and hold Basketball England qualifications, ensuring the highest standards of player development and safety.

COMMUNITY

Charity and community engagement are cornerstones of the Blackhawks Basketball brand. We have a strong history of supporting local and national causes, organizing charity basketball games and events to raise vital funds.

The Will Carling Classic

The Blackhawks Basketball Club is dedicated to supporting Bone Cancer Research in memory of our cherished friend and former player, Will Carling. Tragically lost to a rare form of bone cancer, Will’s memory inspires our ongoing commitment to fundraising for this vital cause. The club and players have organized numerous events in his honour. To amplify our efforts, we have renamed our annual inter-club charity event the Will Carling Classic, aiming to raise substantial funds and contribute to the fight against this devastating disease.
